iPad Review - Basics |
Wow! This is really cool! Greatest thing since sliced bread!
These were some of my original thoughts when I first used an iPad. But what about the details? Was I too quickly dazzled by the glitz?
So let’s look at some of the details, features, and concerns.
The new iPad was released April 2, 2010. It’s slick, sleek, great graphics, easy to use.
The 9.56’’ x 7.47” iPad is ½” thick and weighs 1.5 – 1.6 lbs., depending on the version.
The 9.7” touch driven screen has a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels at 132 pixels per inch (ppi). It has a LED Backlit display and a 178 degree viewing angle.
The aluminum case includes 3 buttons: home, power, and a volume rocker. There is also a speaker, headphone jack, and 30 pin connector.
It is powered by a 1GHz processor. The lithium polymer battery is designed to last 10 hours.
There are six versions of the iPad. The main differing factors are the size of the hard drive (HD) and whether it is available on AT&T’s 3G network. The price is driven by these factors.
For iPads with Wi-Fi access only, the prices are: 16 GB HD $499.00, 32 GB HD $599.00, and 64 GB HD $699.00. With Wi-Fi and 3G access, the prices are: 16 GB HD $629.00, 32 GB HD $729.00, and 64 GB HD $829.00.
