Apple's free internet browser is the default browser for the Mac operating system. Safari was first included as the default browser in Mac OS X v10.3 (Panther) released on October 24, 2003, though it had been available earlier as a download for OS X v10.2 (Jaguar).

It has been available for Windows since June of 2007, including Windows XP, Vista, and 7. Safari is also used in other Apple products such as the iPhone and iPad.
