Where Is The Office 2007 "About" Window?
Q - F.J. from Arvada, CO. asks: I recently bought a new computer and put Office 2007 on it. I mainly use Word. Though I am getting used to the Ribbon interface, there are still some things I haven't found. One is the About window - does it have one and, if so, where is it?
A: With Office 2007 came a completely revamped interface for some of the major programs. Most of the pull-down menu items from Office 2003 and previous versions which we became used to were included in the "Ribbon" in Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point.
Other items were moved to the Options menu. A single button opens the Help window. What happened to the "About" window which has been part of the Help menu for Office products and other software applications for years?
The "About" menu item was moved deep within the Options menu. We will use Word as an example to find the "About" menu. The process is the same for Excel, Access, and Power Point. To begin the journey, click on the Office Button in the top left hand corner of the main interface.
