Office Word Shortcut Keys - Editing
Microsoft Office provides quite a few shortcut keys available when editing a Word document. The list below provides a description of the most common ones.
Shortcut   Description
Ctrl+A   Select (paint) all items in a document. When you want to copy all the content of a document to another document, this can be much easier than trying to paint the entire document with a mouse.

Ctrl+C   Copy all selected (painted) items to the Clipboard.

Ctrl+X   Delete selected (painted) items and copy to the clipboard. This works exactly the same as Ctrl+C except the information is deleted from the original location.

Ctrl+V   Paste item(s) saved to the clip board to the current document beginning at the location of the cursor.

Delete   Delete (erase) the selected (painted) items.

Ctrl+B   Change selected (painted) text to Bold. Same as "Bold" icon. Pressing Ctrl+B when selected text is already bold changes it back to non-bold. Pressing Ctrl+B when nothing is painted will set the font to bold at the cursor position.

Ctrl+I   Change selected (painted) text to Italics. Same as "Italics" icon. Pressing Ctrl+I a second time changes text back to non-italics. Pressing Ctrl+I when nothing is painted will set the font to italics at the cursor position.

Ctrl+U   Underline selected (painted) text. Same as "Underline" icon. Pressing Ctrl+U when the text is already underlined returns text to non-underlined. Pressing Ctrl+U when nothing is painted will set the font to underline at the cursor position.

Ctrl+M   Indent.

Ctrl+]   Increase font size of selected text one point.

Ctrl+[   Decrease font size of selected text one point.

Ctrl+R   Align paragraph right.

Ctrl+E   Align paragraph center.

Ctrl+J   Justify paragraph.

Ctrl+Shift+A   Change selected text to all caps.

Ctrl+Z   Reverse previous action. Very handy when you make a mistake. Same as the "Undo" icon.

Ctrl+Y   Repeat or redo previous action.

Shift+Arrow Key   Select (Paint) from the cursor location. This can be very useful and much easier than using the mouse for precision painting. Works with any of the four arrow keys.

Shift+Page Up/Page Down   Selects (Paints) in the same way as the Shift+Arrow Key, except paints an entire page at a time.

Ctrl+Arrow Key   Moves along a sentence a full word at a time (left and right arrows). Up/down arrows move to beginning of paragraph.

Home   Move to beginning of line.

End   Move to end of line.

Ctrl+Home   Move to beginning of document.

Ctrl+End   Move to end of document.
